Mount Isa Pro Rodeo Ltd, trading or operating as Mount Isa Mines Rodeo (we, us or our), respects the privacy of ticket holders, attendees, volunteers, competitors, parents and guardians, vendors, contractors, sponsors, donors and community members.
This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information in connection with planning, promoting and operating Mount Isa Mines Rodeo. We aim to handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply, and otherwise as a matter of good privacy practice.

Personal information is information or an opinion about an identified individual, or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. Some information, including health information, is sensitive information and receives additional protection.

Where practical, you may contact us anonymously or using a pseudonym for general enquiries. We may need your identity where it is impracticable to provide the service otherwise, including ticketing, refunds, competitor registration, volunteer rostering, incident management or legal compliance.

6. Ticketing and payments
Ticket sales are processed through Flicket Australia Limited Partnership (ABN 50 104 997 967). Payments are processed through Stripe. Full payment card details are handled by the relevant payment provider and are not intentionally stored by us.
We may access ticket orders, attendee lists and transaction reports where reasonably required for admission, reconciliation, support, refunds, fraud prevention, safety or dispute management. We limit exports and access to authorised people.
7. Sensitive information, health information and children
We may collect health, accessibility or other sensitive information where it is reasonably necessary for safety, participation, first aid, an incident or another notified purpose. We seek consent where required and restrict access to people who need the information for that purpose.
The Privacy Act protects personal information regardless of age. When a child or young person may not have capacity to understand and consent, we seek consent or involvement from a parent or guardian as appropriate. We use particular care with children’s contact details, health information and featured images.
8. Photography, filming and livestreaming
Photography, filming and audio recording may occur at Mount Isa Mines Rodeo for event operations, safety, media, livestreaming, promotion, reporting and historical records. Identifiable images may be personal information.
We provide notices through ticket terms, our website and event signage. We generally seek express consent before publishing posed, featured or close-up promotional images where reasonably practicable, particularly for children. General crowd or incidental footage may still capture attendees. Concerns can be raised with event staff or admin@mtisarodeo.com.au.

• sponsors or partners only where the disclosure is notified, reasonably expected, authorised or separately consented to
We do not sell attendee or volunteer contact lists. We do not give sponsors personal contact details merely because they sponsor the event unless a lawful basis and clear notice or consent applies.
10. Overseas storage or disclosure
Some service providers may store or process information outside Australia. Our likely overseas locations are NOT APPLICABLE. Providers that may involve overseas handling include NOT APPLICABLE. We review provider terms and take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances before using them.
11. Marketing and event updates
We may send operational messages that are necessary to manage your ticket, volunteer role, competitor entry, vendor application or event safety. We send promotional communications only where permitted. You can unsubscribe using the link in a message or by contacting admin@mtisarodeo.com.au. Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent necessary operational or transactional messages.
12. Website, cookies and analytics
Our website and ticketing pages may use cookies, analytics and similar technologies to operate the site, process ticket sales, improve event communications, measure website use and support security. These tools may collect device, browser, IP address, ticketing session and usage information. You can manage cookies through your browser settings, although some ticketing functions may not work properly if essential cookies are disabled. Where we use third-party analytics or marketing tools, we aim to configure them in a limited and reasonable way and explain their use in our Privacy Policy.
13. Security
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures may include access restrictions, unique accounts, multi-factor authentication, secure cloud storage, limited printed lists, confidentiality instructions, provider review, backups and secure disposal.

We retain personal information only while it is reasonably required for the purpose for which it was collected, event administration, safety, insurance, accounting, legal or audit requirements. When it is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to destroy or de-identify it. Retention periods vary according to the record and applicable obligations.

We maintain a response process for actual or suspected loss, unauthorised access or unauthorised disclosure of personal information. Where the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme applies, we will assess and notify eligible data breaches as required.
